Hear Samovar Stories at the Aksel Bakunts House Museum – Provided by My Armenia

Basic Info

Aksel Bakunts is a very famous Armenian writer who was born and lived in Goris. In his works and stories he beautifully describes the fantastic nature of his home town and always described the beauty of Goris, which was his inspiration. His small house-museum in Goris opens now its doors to visitors who are invited to participate in a tea ceremony, learning about the tradition of tea making and its significance to Bakunts. The samovar’s significance, origin, and uses in Armenia will be highlighted, and you will learn the process of using a samovar, a traditional device used to boil water for tea in Russia for centuries.

Museum Hours:

  • Tuesday-Saturday 11:00-17:00
  • Sunday 11:00-16:00
  • Monday Rest Day
