St. Gregory the Illuminator Cathedral of Yerevan is an ensemble of 3 churches. It is missioned to commemorate the 1,700th anniversary of the adoption of Christianity as the state religion of Armenia. The total area of the church is 3,200 square meters (34,500 square feet).
The holy relics of St. Gregory the Illuminator are found near the main entrance to the cathedral and were a gift to Armenian Church by Pope John Paul II after spending many centuries at a church in Italy.
