Itinerary

Day 1Airport Yerevan

Arrive at Zvartnots International Airport. Meet your guide and transfer to a hotel. Overnight at a hotel in Yerevan.

Day 2Yerevan – Ejmiatsin – Zvartnots - Armenia Wine - Yerevan

Breakfast. We will start the excursion to centuries-old monuments Ejmiatsin and Zvartnots. These sites are listed on UNESCO World Heritage list. The Cathedral of Ejmiatsin, founded in 303, is the official residence of the Catholicos of Armenia. We’ll continue the trip to Zvartnots Temple, which was built on 7th century by Nerses Builder Catholicos. Continue the tour visiting famous wine factory Armenia Wine. Here we will see the all production of wine and will get acquainted with Armenia traditions of wine making. Visit the museum there. Wine degustation. Drive back to Yerevan. Overnight in Yerevan.

Day 3Yerevan - Saghmosavank – Voskevaz - Yerevan

Breakfast. Drive to Saghmosavank monastery. It is a 12-13c monastery situated on the edge of deep gorge offering a fantastic view to the gorge and the rivulet. We will continue our trip to a very beautiful winery called “Voskevaz”. It seems you enter a wine city. Voskevaz Winery was established in 1932. With all of the modern innovations, it still has carefully preserved much of its authentic elements including the buildings. Today there are numerous constructions works on the territory of the winery in order to create a new; one of a kind touristic complex. The rebirth of the winery began in 2004. Today Voskevaz produces wine using both modern wine-making technology and traditional ones coming from 19th century.

Day 4Yerevan – Tushpa - Khor Virap - Areni Momik winery - Yerevan

Breakfast. Departure to Ararat region and visit Tushpa Winery. It is 35km from Yerevan, nestled below the Biblical Mt. Ararat, in Taperakan village. The 6 hectares of vines are planted nearly 800 meters above sea level. The winemakers strongly believe it is fundamental to enhance our terroir’s influence in the end product. Only by sharing these unique qualities will the wines be protected and justified. Continue the exploration of Ararat region making our next stop at the Monastery of Khor Virap, the famous pilgrimage site, visited by Pope John Paul II. The Monastery used to be the prison of St. Gregory the Illuminator. Khor Virap means “deep gorge’’. From here a breathtaking panoramic view opens up to biblical Mount Ararat. Drive to Village Areni, very famous village-winery, where nearly everybody is a winemaker. A winery of 6100-year-old winery was discovered here in 2007. Visit Momik Wines in Areni. They are family wine brand based in Areni and have been growing grapes and making wine for over 20 years. Since 2018, they’ve been proudly serving Momik Wines at their tasting room in their vineyard.
