Vorotan River

Vorotan river originates from Artsakh and flows into the river Araz. The length of this mountain river 178kms.

Among the attractions alongside the river  the Monastery of Tatev, Big Desert Tatev, Vorotnavank, Sisavank as well as the natural wonder Shaki waterfall can be mentioned.

The area around the river is rich in mineral springs. Some sources are right under the bridge and fall into the river Vorotan because of which the river becomes more turbulent and affluent. At the first glance it seems like a shallow river flowing under the bridge but looking from the other side, we encounter a raging torrent.
