Armenia, a mountainous country, is rich in mineral resources, including iron, copper, molybdenum, gold, silver, zinc, and aluminium. The country is known for its substantial deposits of copper ore, iron ore, and other precious metals, which are exported globally.
Currently, over 670 solid mineral mines are registered in Armenia, with approximately 400 actively exploited. Among them are 22 metal mines, including copper-molybdenum mines in Kadjaran and Agarak, gold mines in Sodq and Meghradzor, and iron ore and aluminium mines.

Additionally, Armenia is home to many mineral water sources, with cities like Jermuk, Dilijan, Bjni, and Hankavan known worldwide for their medicinal waters, offering both health benefits and distinct taste.
