      Itinerary

      Day 1Arrival

      Arrival at Zvartnoc International airport and transfer to the hotel.

      Day 2Yerevan / City tour / (tour till 4-5 pm)

      Breakfast. We will start the tour with the tour in the capital of Armenia: Yerevan. For ages this city has been known as a “pink city” because of the color of the stone it has been built with. So; we will visit Republic square, Mashtoc Avenue, the House of Opera and Ballet after Aram Khachatryan, the park “Cascade”. Then we will visit the Manuscript Museum of Armenia, which is called Matenadaran; here all ancient Armenian Manuscripts are kept. Then we should visit Genocide Memorial known as Tsitsernakaberd. We will do some walking off an hour in Kond district. It is an old town in the very centre of Yerevan. Here we will see the urban life. Overnight in the hotel.

      Day 3Yerevan - Khor Virap – Noravank – Yeghegis

      Breakfast. Take trip to Khor Virap Monastery (4-18th cc.). This monastery is very prominent because of its history; Gregory the Illuminator, who introduced Christianity to Armenia, has been imprisoned there about 13 years as at that time there was a prison in the place of the monastery. Here we can enjoy the spectacular view of the sacred Ararat Mountain – an immortal symbol of Armenia. We will continue our tour to Noravank – a monastery of XII century situated among amazing sheer rocks on the bench of a twisty gorge. This is the only monastery where we may find a unique sculpture of Father God. Drive to Yeghegis.

      Day 4Yeghegis– Smbataberd – Tsakhats Kar – Yeghegis (10min)

      The trail starts from Yeghegis and leads to Smbataberd Fortress (5th century) and Tsakhats Kar Monastery (10th century). The terrain is moderate and assures amazing views of Teksar Mountains. Overnight in Yeghegis.

      Day 5Yeghegis - Arates – Yeghegis(60min)

      We will start our route to Arates monastery. This monastic complex of the medieval Armenian architecture is located in Arates village of Vayots Dzor Province of RA, on the bank of the Rivulet Arates of the Yeghegis River, on the top of a hill. The semi-ruined monuments group consists of several chapels, St. Sion (X c.), St. Astvatsatsin (XI c.) churches and two narthexes (XIII c.). It is supposed that the first construction of the monuments group was founded in the VII c., though the oldest written reference refers to the IX c. Return to Yeghegis village.

      Day 6 Yeghegnadzor - Vernashen – Spitakavor – Proshaberd – Yeghegis (40 min)

      The trail starts from Vernashen village, it leads to Spitakavor Monastery (14th c.) and Proshaberd (Boloraberd) Fortress (13th c.). The terrain is moderate and passes through forests for about 7 km to get to the Monastery, thereafter for about 2 km through steep slopes up to the ruins of Proshaberd Fortress. Several kilometers from the Fortress, you will come across with ruins of an old town.
      Even-though you can take the same trail back to Vernashen but it is highly recommended to go around Proshaberd where you will find the steep slopes and high cliffs surrounding the Fortress, making it inaccessible for invaders.
      Water streams will be found all around the trail. Beware of bears especially in early morning and late-night hikes.
      Overnight in Yeghegis

      Day 7 Yeghegis – Selim – Noraduz – Mikaelyan Family Farm- Sevan – Yenokavan

      Breakfast. Today we are going to pass the pathways that have been used by the travellers of Great Silk Road. We will drive through the Selim Caravanserai, which served as an important center of exchange, trade and for overnight during the times of Great Silk Road. Here we can see the immortal tracks of world history. Visit to Noraduz. We will visit Mikaelyan family farm which is specialized in cheese production. The cheese is unique as it is made with brandy. After here we will drive to Lake Sevan which is one of the largest lakes in the world. It stands out with its sweet and astonishingly blue water. Here we can enjoy the breath-taking scenery of the beautiful lake. Another surprise is expected for our tourists; we will have a cruise in Lake Sevan and take the chance to admire the beauty of blue pearl of Armenian highland. Then we will visit Sevanavank Monastery which is situated on Sevan Peninsula. There are 2 monasteries actually; one of them is destroyed but the other stands still. They have been built in the Middle Ages, around 10th century. Then we will drive to Dilijan. Walking along the Sharambeyan Street, which is one of the oldest streets of the city, we may buy souvenirs and see the life of the small city. During the walk you will breathe the clean mountain air. After all drive to Yenokavan Village and overnight there.

      Day 8 Yenokavan / Yell Extreme park

      Breakfast. Today we will pass all day at Yell Extreme Park.
      Being located in the heart of the astonishing Yenokavan mountains Yell Extreme Park is a real paradise for those who want to combine adrenaline and eco environment. Here we try to unite all those who are keen on nature, adventures and active leisure. Yell Extreme Park is a unique destination where people can try various activities such as zip-line, paragliding, rope park, via ferrata or horizontal climbing, zorbing, paintball, horseback riding and off-road tour by Yell Truck.
      Single ticket is available for all activities.

      Day 9Yenokavan / Riding Route – Yenokavban- Harsnakar

      Breakfast. Start of the program at 11:00 in Apaga Resort. Gomer (Apaga Resort) – Harsnakar. 4.5 hours of horseback riding on beautiful slopes, and woodlands, with crossing 2 streams to the camp in the town of Harsnakar overlooking unusual mountains at the height of alpine meadows. Overnight in Yenokavan.

      Day 10 Yenokavan-Garni-Geghard-Yerevan

      Breakfast. Take trip to Garni. This Pagan Temple was built in the 1st century AD. It is the only temple that has been preserves from the Pagan times in Armenia. It was devoted to the god Mihr, who was the god of cleanness. In 1679 it was destroyed by earthquake. In the 1975 the Temple was restored. Then we will continue our trip to Geghard Monastery. Its name came from the legendary lance that was used to pierce the body of Christ. It has been kept here for centuries. Though the exact foundation of the monastery is unknown, the present complex was built in the mid – 13th century. Afterwards we will a local house where you will have the chance to see and participate in the preparation of Armenian national bread: lavash. It is a very thin, usually sold in very large forms. It is usually cooked in a ground oven: “tonir”. In 2015 it has been inscribed in UNESCO intangible heritage list. Here we will enjoy the “Armenian fast food” with lavash and cheese. Get back to Yerevan and overnight at hotel. (B)
