  • DAY 1. Arrival
    Arrive Yerevan at Zvartnots Airport. Passport control, issuing of visas. Check in to Hotel.
  • DAY 2. Yerevan /city tour/
    Breakfast. We will start the tour with the tour in the capital of Armenia: Yerevan. For ages this city has been known as a “pink city” because of the color of the stone it has been built with. So we will visit Republic square, Mashtoc Avenue, the House of Opera and Ballet after Aram Khachatryan, the park “Cascad”. Lunch. Then we will visit the Manuscript Museum of Armenia, which is called Matenadaran; here all ancient Armenian Manuscripts are kept. Then we should visit Erebuni museum and Genocide Memorial known as Tsitsernakaberd. Dinner in a national Armenian Restaurant. Overnight in the hotel. (B/L/D)
  • DAY 3. Ashtarak town –Amberd Fortress – Saghmosavank – Hovhanavank - Yerevan
    Breakfast. We will take trip to the region of Aragatsotn. Visit the Monasteries of Saghmosavank and Hovhanavank (1215). Then we will visit the family castle of the Pahlavouni Princes at Amberd, one of the few castles in Armenia that has been preserved. We will visit the Church and fortress of Amberd, built on a rocky promontory in the Middle Ages and situated near Mt. Aragats (4091 m above the sea level) and the Byurakan Astrophysical Observatory. The domed Church was built in 1026 and is one of the most unique churches of its type in Armenia. Lunch. Return to Yerevan . Dinner and overnight. (B/L/D)
  • DAY 4. Yerevan – Khor Virap – Areni Winery – Noravank Monastery – Goris
    Breakfast. Take trip to Khor Virap Monastery (4-18th cc.). This monastery is very prominent because of its history; Gregory the Illuminator, who introduced Christianity to Armenia, has been imprisoned there about 13 years as at that time there was a prison in the place of the monastery. Here we can enjoy the spectacular view of the sacred Ararat Mountain - an immortal symbol of Armenia. After Khor Virap we will visit the village Areni which is considered to be an important centre of wine production industry. You are welcome to taste its excellent wine. Lunch. We will continue our tour to Noravank - a monastery of XII century situated among amazing sheer rocks on the bench of a twisty gorge. This is the only monastery where we may find a unique sculpture of Father God. Lunch. After all we will drive to the south of Armenia, city Goris. Dinner and overnight there. (B/L/D)
  • DAY 5. Goris – Tatev Monastery - Khndzoresk Village – Karahunj observatory -Goris
    Breakfast. We will start our trip visiting the monastic complex of Tatev. The complex was found within the ages of 9-13. Formerly it was a very famous educational center in Armenia and all famous contemporary scientists and philosophers were educated there. It used to accept students from abroad as well. Lunch. Visit the cave village of Khndzoresk. We will explore the ancient observatory of Karahunj quite similar to Stonehenge in England. The columns sit like soldiers on a hill. The 204 stones near Sisian have been ascribed with mystical, fertility and cosmic powers, but rarely have ancient monuments caused such a sensation in astronomical circles. Return to hotel in Goris. Dinner at the hotel in Goris. (B/L/D)
  • DAY 6. Goris – Shuhi-Stepanakert (Mountain Karabakh)
    Breakfast. We will visit the city of Shushi. Visit the Monastery of Ghazanchetsots (19th century), Tank (1993) Shushi liberation monument. Lunch. We will get Stepanakert. Accommodation at the hotel. Dinner. (B/L/D)
  • DAY 7. Stepanakert - Gandzasar – Tigranakert - Stepanakert
    Breakfast. We will start our trip having the first stop at the statue of Grandmother and Grandfather, which has become the symbol of Nagorno Kharabagh. We will continue the tour visiting the monastery of Gandzasar. Ganzasar Monastery is one of the most important architectural monument of Artsakh and the entire historical Eastern Side of Armenia. It is said that the head of John the Baptist id buried here. Lunch. Visit the bazar in Stepanakert for tasting Jingjalov hac, the national meal of Artsakh. We will make a visit to the historical museum of Artsakh. After all we will visit The Archeological Museum of Tigranakert. Get back to Stepanakert. Dinner. Overnight at the hotel (B/L/D)
  • DAY 8 Stepanakert - Selim Pass – Lake Sevan
    Breakfast. We will drive to Lake Sevan passing through the Selim Caravanserai, which served as an important center of exchange trade and for overnight during the times of Great Silk Road. After here we will drive to Lake Sevan which is one of the largest lakes in the world. It stands out with its sweet and astonishingly blue water. Here we can enjoy the breathtaking scenery of the beautiful lake. Lunch. Then we will visit Sevanavank Monastery which is situated on Sevan Peninsula. There are 2 monasteries actually; one of them is destroyed but the other stands still. They have been built in the middle Ages, around 10th century. Then we will drive to Dilijan. Dinner and overnight in Dilijan. (B/L/D)
  • DAY 9. Lake Sevan – Goshavank Monastery – Haghartsin Monastery - Alaverdi
    Breakfast. We will have a short city tour in Dilijan. Walking along the Sharamberyan Street we will come across with many museums, souvenirs’ markets, small shops and so on. We will also observe two traditional houses built of wood, with tiled roofs and balconies with meticulously carved being typical examples of Dilijan. Lunch. Then we will visit the monastery of Goshavank. It was founded in the 13th century by a very famous writer and educator Mkhitar Gosh. It used to be an educational center and formerly was called “Nor Getik”. But after the death of its founder it was renamed as “Goshavank” in honor of the famous scientist. Then we will visit the medieval Monastery of Haghartsin. The refectory of Hagahrtsin is very unique. There are a number of very interesting khachkars (cross stones) in the Monastery. Lunch at a local family houses in Dilijan. Our tour continues to Alaverdi. Dinner. Overnight at the hotel. (B/L/D)
  • DAY 10. Alaverdi – Sanahin – Hahgpat – Akhtala-Gyumri
    Today we will visit two unique monuments of Armenian architecture of X-XIV centuries: the monasteries of Sanahin and Haghpat which are UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Literally the name ’’Sanahin’’ in Armenian means "this one is older than the other," which probably means that this monastery is older of than Haghpat. These two monasteries are very close to each other and can be easily seen from one to the other. Both are located on an uneven plateau, separated by a deep crack formed by a small river that flows into the river Debed. Haghpat Monastery was one of the largest religious, cultural and educational centers of medieval Armenia. We will also visit the monastery of Akhtala, which has afantastic scenery. Here we may see the first statue of marriage rings in the world. Lunch at a national Armenian restaurant. After all we will drive to Gyumri, the second biggest city of Armenia. Dinner. Overnight at the hotel. (B/L/D)
  • Day 11. Gyumri – Aruch-Talin-Yerevan
    Breakfast at the hotel. We will have trip in and around Gyumri. Gyumri is the second largest city in Armenia. Gyumri is situated on the banks of the Akhurian River in Shirak province. In Gyumri we will visit history museum located in a historic Armenian house and the former home of the wealthy Zitoghtiants family, who were famous for their baths and brewery. Lunch. On your way to Yerevan you can visit - Aruch Cathedral, Talin and Mastara Church . Return to Yerevan. Dinner. Overnight.
  • Day 12. Yerevan - Ejmiatsin– Zvartnoc - Yerevan
    Breakfast. We will start the excursion to centuries-old monuments Ejmiatsin and Zvartnots. These sites are listed on UNESCO World Heritage list. The Cathedral of Ejmiatsin, founded in 303, is the official residence of the Catholicos of Armenia. We’ll continue the trip to Zvartnots Temple, which was built on 7th century by Nerses Builder Catholicos. Lunch. Get back to Yerevan. We will visit Vernissage; the famous open-air market of contemporary art. (open only Saturdays and Sandays). Overnight in Yerevan. Dinner.
  • Day 13.Yerevan – Garni-Geghard-Yerevan
    Breakfast. Take trip to Garni. This Pagan Temple was built in the 1st century AD. It is the only temple that has been preserves from the Pagan times in Armenia. It was devoted to the god Mihr, who was the god of cleanness. In 1679 it was destroyed by earthquake. In the 1975 the Temple was restored. Then we will continue our trip to Geghard Monastery. Its name came from the legendary lance that was used to pierce the body of Christ. It has been kept here for centuries. Though the exact foundation of the monastery is unknown, the present complex was built in the mid – 13th century. Afterwards we will a local house where you will have the chance to see and participate in the preparation of Armenian national bread: lavash. It is a very thin, usually sold in very large forms. It is usually cooked in a ground oven: “tonir''. Recently it has been recognized as non-material heritage of UNESCO. Lunch.Get back to Yerevan. Dinner. Overnight at hotel.
